WHY IS THE SERVING SIZE OF MUNK PACK PROTEIN COOKIES LISTED AS 1/2 COOKIE?
Our protein cookies serve as an alternative to energy bars, which are typically 40 grams per serving. In order to meet FDA regulations regarding serving sizes, we are required to list no less than 2 servings per container, as our cookies are 84g each.
WHAT ARE NET CARBS AND HOW DO YOU CALCULATE THEM?
The term “net carbs” refers to carbohydrates that are absorbed by the body. To calculate net carbs in Munk Pack products, you subtract the fiber, allulose (if present) and glycerin (if present) from the total carbs. The net carb calculation for all of our keto-friendly products can be found on the packaging and on the corresponding product pages.
WHAT IS ALLULOSE?
Allulose is a sweetener found naturally in small amounts in maple syrup, figs and raisins. Our source is produced from non-bioengineered corn. Allulose has virtually no impact on blood sugar and insulin.
WHY ISN'T ALLULOSE INCLUDED IN YOUR NUTRITION PANEL?
Allulose is an ingredient in our Keto Granola Bars and our Keto Nut & Seed bars. As of April 2019, the FDA released new guidelines allowing allulose to be excluded from total sugar and added sugar counts on nutrition labels, based on data showing that allulose is not metabolized by the human body in the same way as table sugar. It has fewer calories, produces only negligible increases in blood glucose or insulin levels, and does not promote dental decay. Allulose is also not a sugar alcohol and cannot be listed elsewhere in the Nutrition Facts panel.
IS THERE ADDED SUGAR IN MUNK PACK PRODUCTS?
Our Keto Granola Bars and Keto Nut & Seed Bars contain 0g of added sugar per the Nutrition Facts panel. They are sweetened with allulose, which is technically a form of sugar, but the FDA allows it to be excluded from total sugar and added sugar counts based on findings that it has a negligible impact on blood glucose and insulin levels. In our Protein Cookies we use cane sugar. For quantities used, see the Added Sugar amounts listed in the Nutrition Facts panels on the product wrappers.
IS SOLUBLE TAPIOCA FIBER KETO-FRIENDLY?
Our soluble tapioca fiber is a resistant dextrin, which is a keto-friendly fiber. It is derived from non-GMO tapioca starch that’s broken down through an enzymatic-based process. The resulting fiber is a natural sweetener that shouldn’t kick you out of ketosis or impact your blood sugar.
Some brands use isomaltooligosaccharides (IMOs) and label them as soluble tapioca fiber in the ingredients. IMOs are not keto-friendly and can kick you out of ketosis. We do not use IMOs in any of our products.
DO YOU USE SOLUBLE TAPIOCA FIBER OR IMOS?
When soluble tapioca fiber is listed as an ingredient in our products, this is actual soluble tapioca fiber. We do not use isomaltooligosaccharides (IMOs) in any of our products.
ARE ALL MUNK PACK PRODUCTS VEGAN/DAIRY FREE?
Munk Pack is committed to offering products that are not made with animal-based ingredients or materials. Our recipes use only plant-based ingredients.
Temporarily though, milk is declared as an allergen in our keto bars that contain chocolate (in the form of chips or a drizzle) due to potential traces of milk in the supply from our keto chocolate supplier. Our supplier is currently working towards a dairy free certification.
This trace allergen warning applies only to our keto chocolate and cocoa products. The chocolate in our Protein Cookies and Mini Protein Cookies (which are certified vegan) are sourced from a different supplier.
ARE ALL MUNK PACK PRODUCTS GLUTEN FREE?
Yes. All our products are third party certified as gluten free.
DO YOU TEST YOUR PRODUCTS FOR TRACE GLUTEN?
Yes, we conduct product testing to ensure we have less than 10 parts per million (ppm) trace gluten. The FDA standard for gluten free products is less than 20ppm.
ARE ALL MUNK PACK PRODUCTS NON-GMO?
All Munk Pack products are non-gmo.
ARE ALL MUNK PACK PRODUCTS KOSHER?
All our products are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union, but are not Kosher for Passover.
ARE THERE ANY ALLERGENS PRESENT IN YOUR PRODUCTION FACILITY?
Peanuts, tree nuts, milk (dairy), soy, sesame and gluten are present in our production facility and may be processed on the same equipment as our products. Good Manufacturing Practices are in place to properly segregate, store and handle allergens, and production lines are fully cleaned in between productions. We conduct allergen swabbing to test for trace allergens before using shared equipment. Our facility is regularly third party audited and as a result our products have obtained certification as gluten free, kosher and vegan.
Before consuming our products, please read the ingredients and allergen information on the wrapper of the product you have on hand for the most accurate information on what allergens are present in the product and in the facility where it was made.
WHAT MEASURES DO YOU TAKE AGAINST CROSS-CONTAMINATION?
Good Manufacturing Practices are in place, and production lines are fully cleaned in between productions, with swabbing and testing of the lines for trace allergens. As part of our gluten free certification, we do additional ingredient and product testing.

All Munk Pack products are produced in the USA.
WHICH OF YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAINS PALM OIL, AND IS THE PALM OIL YOU USE FROM A SUSTAINABLE SOURCE?
Of our Protein Cookies, only the Coconut White Chip Macadamia contains palm oil in the white chips. Palm oil is also a small component in some of our keto bars.
We require our suppliers to only use palm oil that is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). RSPO lists one of its most important criteria as: “no primary forests or areas which contain significant concentrations of biodiversity (e.g. endangered species) or fragile ecosystems, or areas which are fundamental to meeting basic or traditional cultural needs of local communities (high conservation value areas), can be cleared.” You can learn more about the RSPO and their certification process here.
WHY DO YOUR PRODUCTS COST MORE THAN SIMILAR PRODUCTS?
The price of our products is a reflection of our commitment to using high-quality, premium ingredients.
While some keto-friendly products use sugar alcohols like erythritol or maltitol as sweeteners, we choose to use allulose in our Keto Granola Bars and Keto Nut & Seed Bars because it doesn’t have any aftertaste, it has virtually no impact on blood sugar and people report it is easier on their digestive system.
Peanut butter is the base of all of our Protein Cookies because it naturally contains healthy fats and is a plant based protein source. A cheaper and more common option is enriched wheat flour, which has little to no nutritional value and is not gluten free.
Our products are also Gluten Free Certified, Non-GMO, OU-D Kosher and Vegan Certified when applicable.

WILL YOUR COOKIES OR BARS MELT WHEN SHIPPED?
The chocolate in our Keto Nut & Seed Bars and Keto Granola Bars has a melt point of 95F. Even if outside temperatures exceed that, we anticipate that most trucks do not exceed that temperature inside their closed compartment.
The chocolate in our Protein Cookies has a melt point around 86F, however we have not yet received any complaints about melting during shipment.
If melting does occur, we recommend leaving the snacks in the fridge for 2-3 hours before consuming. There should be no impact on the taste though either way.
